I'm back.

I've been busy being a father and switching jobs. I'm now a System Administrator at Capital Bank in Raleigh. Father of a 19 month old (going on 3 year old) boy.  I'll be posting some more tech tips, but my focus is no longer desktop support so I won't have as many helpful tips to share in the future.  I will however be posting a variety of ideas, tips, tricks, and tools to help you with your computers and life in general.  See you all soon.

Cyber Bullying is defined as: W illful and repeated harm inflicted through the use of computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices ” Harm in this instances means emotional abuse.   For example, someone posts an embarrassing photo and then bully's make hurtful comments repeatedly.   Cyber bullying comes in many forms.   Emotional abuse through social media. Public shaming Creating/spreading rumors about people online or through instant messages Sending threats or mean messages to people directly. Keep Your Computer From Catching a Cold

Bonus points if you know which movie I'm referencing. ;) As an IT guy, people often ask me how to prevent problems from occurring with their PCs. Beyond my first answer, which is usually, "Buy a Mac," the best thing anyone can do to prevent computer problems is do everything you can to keep your machine virus-free. If you are reading this blog, it means you are on the internet, which also means you are exposing your machine to potential risks with every click of your mouse. I cannot stress this enough: If you're going to be online you MUST have a virus scanner. If you surf the web without one, there chances are your computer is already infected. There are a couple free virus scanners that are good and reliable, for your average computer user. Of course the ones you pay for are better but I am writing this for those on a budget.
